Adaptive Solar Facade
There is a growing need for Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV, CAGR 27% in Europe), however, rooftop space is limited. Our Adaptive Solar Facade (ASF) is a lightweight, modular, and multifunctional dynamic photovoltaic system that can be mounted as a second building skin onto any building surface and represents an attractive alternative to existing BIPV solutions. The need for combining dynamic PV and shading systems has been articulated by several large clients, who have expressed keen interest in our system, both for new buildings and the renovation of existing ones. The ASF increases the PV generation by 40% due to active solar tracking compared to fix BIPV systems and the AI-controlled shading capabilities reduce the building cooling energy demand by 20-80% compared to traditional systems while improving occupants' comfort and well-being. |
